Tim Ketchum is a credentialed valuation professional and independent expert witness with a proven track record of success. He delivers expert analysis and top-tier valuation reports that are admissible in court or acceptable to the IRS. His experience spans more than 30 industries and over 200 engagements, including expert witness and litigation support, IRS compliance, and a wide range of transactional and strategic planning assignments.

In addition to valuation and expert witness work, Tim led, negotiated, and closed more than a dozen M&A transactions with enterprise values ranging from $5 million to $85 million. He advised clients from start to finish, building and closing deals with buyers ranging from small private equity firms and family offices to multinational, publicly traded companies.

Tim’s decade-plus career in the military instilled a strong commitment to discipline, continuous improvement, and service to others. Alongside his professional practice, he serves as an Adjunct Professor at West Virginia University, where he teaches undergraduate finance courses and prepares students for careers in finance, business, and accounting.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Northern Michigan University and a Master of Science in Applied Economics from West Virginia University. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration in Accounting at West Virginia University.

He is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) through the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

Originally from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Tim now resides in Rochester, Minnesota, with his wife, Samantha, a Speech Language Pathologist at the Mayo Clinic. They are proud parents to their daughter, Freya, and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Goose.
